Page Function ​

The page directs players into Caerlon geography without duplicating the full orientation, terrain, watershed, route, or regional pages. It introduces the physical structure, presents the accepted atlas, gives a continuous west-to-east reading, exposes the geography directory, identifies all eleven regions, and displays only maps available under the visual-asset registry.

Desktop Canvas ​

  • Maximum page content width: 76rem.
  • Preferred prose width: 48–52rem.
  • Atlas width: full available content width, preserving the complete 1656 × 926 frame.
  • Atlas display rule: contain; never crop the key, compass, coastline, legend, or numbered markers.
  • Diagram width: full available content width, preserving its 1600 × 660 viewBox.
  • Main vertical section gap: 2.5rem.
  • Directory: two-column desktop card grid generated from the navigation registry.
  • Map collection: two-column desktop card grid generated from the visual-asset registry.

Atlas Treatment ​

The public page displays the semantic SVG companion. The SVG embeds the accepted raster without changing its appearance and provides stable, focusable semantic marker groups for locations 01–16.

The raster remains the authoritative visual fallback. The semantic companion, CSV label registry, metadata JSON, and long description provide machine-readable and accessible structure.

The caption must state:

Relative-position atlas; not drawn to a fixed measured scale.

Orientation Diagram ​

C1-D00 is a continuous west-to-east sectional diagram rather than three separate map-like panels. It shows:

  • Sunset Gulf;
  • Crownward Uplands;
  • Silveredge Arc;
  • High Silver Gate;
  • Heart Plains;
  • Harrowline Ridge;
  • Scoured Marches;
  • Dread Sea Lowlands;
  • Dread Sea;
  • core numbered sites 01–08;
  • directional arrows for the Valen, Torin, Greenmantle, and Esten.

It is not authoritative for measured distance, elevation, travel time, route geometry, political borders, or settlement coordinates.

Registry-Driven Directory ​

The geography directory is generated between the AUTO:GEOGRAPHY-DIRECTORY markers from:

_database/navigation/caerlon-geography-section-navigation.csv

Behavior:

  • every geography subject remains visible as a card;
  • active destinations render as links;
  • review_only destinations render as links only in review builds;
  • inactive_until_accepted destinations remain readable but unlinked;
  • changing a registry state and rerunning the renderer updates the page without manually rewriting the directory.

Registry-Driven Map Collection ​

The map collection is generated between the AUTO:MAP-COLLECTION markers from:

_database/visual-assets/caerlon-c1-geo-01-assets.csv

Behavior:

  • accepted map assets appear automatically;
  • review assets appear only in review builds;
  • planned or internal assets remain hidden;
  • the semantic companion is preferred when present;
  • the raster fallback remains separately linked above the atlas.

Previous and next controls are generated from the navigation registry. The review build links backward to C1-GEO-00. The next control remains absent until C1-GEO-02 is accepted and activated.

Public Content Restrictions ​

The landing page does not establish exact regional polygons, climate mechanics, road geometry, route distances, travel times, new settlements, political jurisdiction, infrastructure finance, military command, hidden Marcher hazards, or unrevealed information.

Acceptance Check ​

C1-GEO-01 passes review when:

  • public prose contains no generation or validation commentary;
  • High Silver Gate is described as the passage between western river systems and the Esten watershed;
  • the atlas carries an explicit relative-scale statement;
  • the semantic atlas exposes stable marker and entity IDs;
  • C1-D00 shows all core site numbers 01–08 or none; the current version shows all eight;
  • river arrows state the correct drainage directions;
  • Highharbor remains on the Sunset Gulf;
  • Greenmantle remains separate from and southeast of the Torin mouth;
  • Estenwatch remains on the eastern Esten mouth;
  • Harrowline remains inland from the Dread Sea coast;
  • all eleven canonical regions appear once;
  • publication states use active, review_only, inactive_until_accepted, or internal consistently;
  • directory, map collection, and previous/next controls can be regenerated from their registries;
  • no dead child-page links are published.
